IMPORTANT NOTES: Successful completion of this course is based on meeting accuracy and proficiency standards during the integration activities. Participants must attend the full training. Partial credits are not available.

STS-Visual Phonics is a multi-sensory tool that facilitates the teaching of: 

- Reading through the development of sound-letter connections and decoding skills. 

- Writing through the development of spelling and word study skills. 

- Speech through the development of articulation skills.

Learning Objectives:

  • Connect research with practice as it relates to STS-VP   
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the 50+ STS-VP handshapes and printed symbols. 
  • Demonstrate integration of STS-VP to reinforce literacy, writing, and speech production.  
  • Demonstrate strategies for articulation therapy while teaching letter recognition, phonemic awareness, phoneme-grapheme association and syllable/phoneme blending.

CREDIT:  One graduate credit from University of North Dakota is OPTIONAL and credit registration and payment will be completed at the workshop location. This credit is an additional $50.00.
