Keynotes

Dr. Katie Martin, the author of Learner-Centered Innovation and Evolving Education and serves as the Chief Impact Officer, Learner-Centered Collaborative. She teaches in the graduate school of Education at High Tech High and is on the board of Real World Scholars.

Dr. Martin has worked in diverse contexts to learn, research, and support deeper learning for all students. She has served as a middle school English language arts teacher, instructional coach, and led the district’s new teacher mentoring program.

At the university, district and school level, Katie aspires to create experiences that empower all learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to thrive in a changing world.

As a mom, she wants her kids to have learning experiences in school that build on their strengths and interests, and as an educator; she is passionate about making sure we do the same for all kids.

Dr. Corey Martin, Corey Martin is a Yale-trained family physician driven to change the delivery of healthcare and improve the mental and physical health of our communities.  He is a founder of the Bounce Back Project, practicing private group physician, former Bush Fellow, Chief Medical Officer, and lead physician in response to clinician burnout.

Driven to do this work by the loss of two colleagues and friends, Corey strives to create an environment of opportunity in which all of us can do the deep, heartfelt work of changing the way we show up and interact in each other’s lives. One of the ways he does this is by facilitating resilience retreats across the United States and throughout the world. He is both a Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator and Center for Courage and Renewal Facilitator and facilitates workshops based on the work of Brené Brown and Parker Palmer. In his free time, he enjoys working on his farm that he has recently turned into an event center.  He lives in Buffalo, MN with his wife and three daughters. He is a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring “good enoughist.”

Eric Sheninger, Eric is an Associate Partner with the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE). Prior to this, he was a teacher and the award-winning Principal at New Milford High School. Under his leadership, his school became a globally recognized model for innovative practices. Eric oversaw the successful implementation of several sustainable change initiatives that radically transformed the learning culture at his school while increasing achievement.

His work focuses on innovative and practical ways educators can transform teaching, learning, and leadership. Through his work with thousands of schools, Eric has emerged as an innovative leader, best-selling author, and sought-after speaker. His main focus is using research and evidence-based practices to empower learners and educators.
